Both Kir and Karik knew precisely what would happen when the God and Goddess released Cassidy from stasis; the same damn thing that happened every time a female wolf went into heat for the first time ⦠a lot of aggression and fighting. Kir and Karik could speak to one another in their wolf forms. As soon as Cassidy let them complete the mating ritual, then they could all speak to one another, which would help in this situation tremendously. Just right now, the only thing they could do was to deter her from causing serious injury to them or herself.
How do you want to do this, brother? Karik asked through their mind link.
Letâs see if we can get her to tire herself out, Kir stated flatly. However, he was feeling excited to be able to finish the mating process with Cassidy. Through the link, he and Kir shared, he could feel that Karik was also excited. However, he knew that it might take a little gentle force to calm her down so that they could all do what needed to be done. Hopefully, her wolf had told Cassidy a little of what would happen; Kir wasnât holding out hope. They would all have to have a serious conversation when this was all said and done, and they were back in the mortal realm.
Watch out, brother! Karik yelled through their mind link. The next thing Kir knew, he had been knocked onto his back. Cassidyâs wolf now had Kir pinned to the ground with her jaws wrapped around his throat, putting pressure on his windpipe. He panicked for a moment and heard Karik in his head again, Iâve got you, brother. Donât move. Iâm going to ram into her side gently, so she gets knocked off you. You really should pay better attention to angry she-wolves around you.
Ha, ha! You are so funny. Get her off me. I donât want to hurt her, and if I try and let Luka have some freedom right now like he wants, HE WILL end up hurting her, and thatâs not good for anyone.
Karik laughed heartily at his brotherâs predicament, Okay, okay. Iâve got this. Our mate is strong, isnât she?
She is, brother, but if you donât get her off me, we may not have a third of this trio.
Those words hung in the air momentarily. Karik wasnât sure if he meant that she was slowly crushing his ability to breathe or if Luka was going to hurt Cassidy out of anger over what she was doing to him. Any of those scenarios wasnât acceptable for Karik, so with not a second more thought, he stepped back a few big wolf steps and ran fast enough to knock his mate off his brother, just not hard enough to hurt her in the maneuver.
Cassidy went flying through the air. Maybe I hit her harder than I thought, Karik felt a momentary panic grip him as Cassidy landed with a hard thump on the flowered ground several feet away from the two of them.
